Search Keywords in Seconds

FAST: we routinely deliver keyword searches in a matter of seconds, even for queries with over 100 individual terms.

MerlinOne has developed its own extremely fast and powerful search engine which allows users to execute combinations of full-text, date, field-level, Boolean, fuzzy/phonetic and proximity searches. Searching for a near-duplicate of a document returns any document that quotes the original document. Our search engine also allows you to search for words spoken within audio or video files.

Search Audio and Video

Automated speech-to-text makes video and audio word-searchable.

Think of it as OCR for audio and video files - Merlin automatically creates and indexes text from the spoken words in files containing audio. Search depositions, voicemail, multimedia files alongside any other file type. Merlin cues video and audio files directly to the searched phrase or word, saving untold costs from attorneys viewing or listening to mind-numbing hours of video and audio.

Sampling

Improve Defensibility with Targeted Statistical Sampling.

Merlin offers you the ability to sample the entire database or target any subset you generate. You determine the confidence levels and Merlin automatically determines the number of samples required and then generates a random dataset. Use data sampling to test the responsiveness of an overbearing search from opposing counsel, to test all un-reviewed files, or to QC a reviewer's efforts.

Merlin's unique alerter function sends you an email when items of interest to you are input. You can save complex searches and Merlin will automatically run those queries several times a day and when additional files, meeting that search criteria, are added to the collection, your Merlin sends you (and anyone you designate) an email.

Re-unitize PDFs

Extract individual documents from large PDF files.

Merlin's re-unitization tool lets you extract individual documents from a single potentially huge aggregated file. You just set the page breaks on the sub documents: Merlin automatically creates them including the metadata from the original, then OCRs and adds them to the dataset in seconds.

Wicked Fast Review

Automated tools to reduce clicks in reviewing documents.

Merlin's review module is all about speed. As reviewers log in, Merlin presents them with their assigned documents so they can get right to work. Our configurable, intuitive interface provides drop-down or checkbox tagging and navigation tools for rapid movement through the collection. Merlin organizes emails and their attachments into threads for a reviewer, and entire threads can be identically tagged with one click if desired. If a reviewer takes a break and logs off, our bookmark feature automatically brings them back to their next document to review.
